Colgate Youth for America
Colgate Youth for America
June 5, 2005
Colgate-Palmolive’s corporate mission includes giving back to communities where they do business, and Youth for America was created by our agency and had a successful 35 year run. YFA united the six national youth organizations Girl Scouts of the USA, Boy Scouts of America, Girls Incorporated, Camp Fire USA, Boys and Girls Clubs of America and National 4H to reach over 13 million young people. The program awarded cash grants to hundreds of local units of these organizations every year, and put the spotlight on their positive work through local and national media attention. The program was honored by The White House under every administration from Nixon through Bush, and countless local officials, mayors and governors who proclaimed Colgate Youth for America Days, Weeks and Months in honor of their hometown clubs and troops. Each year we secured a panel of top celebrity talent as a judging panel, and our Grand Prize winners were guests at The White House, Disney World, Jeopardy Studios, and dozens of other places where we received national publicity.
